Getting to that time of year...

Every year I do the last minute dash to make as many Christmas gifts as possible!  This year I've decided to make a quilt for Hailey.  I purchased a Moda charm pack and I'm going to try out this quilt:
I cut out some of the fabrics, but I'm not loving the fabric I have for the white areas.  I'm not a big fan of dots. Does this mean a trip to the fabric shop?  Yes it does!  It's been so long since I've made a quilt I'm pretty excited about it!

So what else could I do for the holiday push?  If you have any ideas or suggestions for kids and teens handmade gifts leave me a comment!  Please feed my holiday gift making psychosis!  It's the best kind really... and I wouldn't have it any other way!

  2. LOL - we are totally sisters from a different mister Sally! Tonight, I was making my lists of homemade gifts and their recipients. I'm going to work on making Hannah a toy kitchen with some cute felt food for one... and I was thinking of making my brother a zipper pouch out of old bicycle innertube (found in your barn, of course!). :)

  3. Gina-
Pencil pouches sound like a great idea! You can never have enough of those in my house! One for markers, one for pens, ones for brushes :)

    Jen-
Play food! You're a genius!!! We'll have to get together & have a crafty day. We miss you guys so much! I have more bike inner tube if you need it! I'm not really sure what to do with it. I think a crafty day is definitely in order!

  4. We used an old Memory matching game one year. We had photos of family members printed on sticker paper. We cut them and stuck them on the used cards. It's awesome b/c included grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. We made the game so all the cards can be used or there are the single person pics or group pics, so if the smaller kids want to use it, we just separate them. The other thing we have done was to make freezer paper stencil T-shirts. The kids really enjoyed them a lot! They liked them so much that they wanted to help and made some for other family members =) Another silly little thing my kids loved one year was the bookmarks I made them. They read a lot...! I'm not sure what we're going to do this year, but after reading posts like this, I am motivated to get going!
