Craft Night

Anyone in the Sheboygan, Wisconsin area that would like to join me to set up a craft night, please comment here. I would love to set up a regular craft night such as the etsy craft nights that I will not be going to in the near future. I would like to make it very informal. Everyone brings a small dessert, because we would all have to eat (preferably chocolate). We would bring whatever we are working on and chat & drink coffee or tea and try to get some projects completed... or just chat :) We could even do a show & tell from month to month. Anyone interested give me a shout!

CraftingSuccess making my etsy shop better...

OK, we all read everything we can. Go to all the virtual labs. Visit the chat rooms to ask advice. We try to do everything we can with our limited budgets and limited time. Well, check this out...

I had someone "friend" me in Twitter. I feel very fortunate to have him find me, and that I took the time to look over his shop. I wanted to get one of his e-books to start but with being on etsy and having some success I didn't know where I should start in the series. I convo'ed him and he got me going in the right direction.

I started with the first e-book in his series, a lot of stuff I already knew but hadn't done yet. So I started my list. For any newbie this first book is great!!! He makes it all very simple, doesn't talk down, and only gives you the info you need. No b.s. here!

The second e-book is a bit more labor intensive if you are not a computer type person. Again, he holds your hand throughout the book to make things very simple. I addition to the wonderful way the book is written, he is always available for questions. Just convo him and he will get back to you very quickly. I've never had to wait more than 24 hours. He has convo'ed me back within minutes in the few cases I've contacted him. I've never had to convo him about any questions, just a little follow up and feedback discussions. There is so much information here, it will probably take me some time to get through it all and actually apply all of the marketing strategies. So far however it has been fun to get down to the knitty gritty of marketing my shop. I don't think I could've said that if I had to figure all of these techniques out on my own!

There are 2 more e-books to go through, and I am looking very forward to fine tuning my shop once I get through this book. I might even venture into making a video! O my! That might take a while ;)

The best part about these e-books... they are AFFORDABLE!!!

Thank you CraftingSuccess!

Aaron Jackson Fund

I will be holding a "benefit" for a friend of mine between March and June of 2009 in my etsy shop.

10% of all Nightowl Craftworks sales will be going to the Aaron Jackson Fund.

Aaron was diagnosed 5 years ago with polycystic kidney disease. This past December he was put on the active waiting list for a kidney transplant. His wife has been tested and medically cleared to be a donor in case he needs a kidney before one is available on the waiting list. We are going to watch his kidney function levels and hopefully it will wait till the summer to do the transplant. As of December, he was down to 16% kidney function and it varies slightly but we will have a current level in mid-March.

Aaron is a father of four gorgeous children and a devoted husband. He has been part of the volunteer fire department since high school. I wish the best for him and his family.

If you would rather donate to his fund directly please go to this paypal account to submit a donation... Aaron Jackson Fund

Search your name on etsy...

Has anyone searched thier own name on the etsy? I have, and I found some really great items! Who knew I was so cool? So I decided that would be my next treasury... so I waited, and waited, and stalked, and waited... and got a treasury west for everyone to enjoy. Here's the link-

I had crafters ADHD again last night... it was a good thing I had all the supplies for this little project in our "Harry Potter" closet. I love to check out Heather Bailey's blog every once in a while, she has great tutorials and the prettiest fabrics. I've been wanting to do something with the flower pinwheel, so I made a mobile for Hailey's crib. I printed the pattern on colored card stock and cut it out with an exacto knife. I had some mini brads for scrap booking that I used to cinch the flower together. Then I used some heavy duty fishing line and hung the pinwheels to a few lengths of wire. I added a few green bows & voila! She loves it!!! Yay me!
